Ric Brown 

I am originally from Glasgow (UK), and hold a BA (hons) in Fine Art Sculpture from Bath Spa University. My background is in graphics, stone-carving and letter cutting. 

While in the UK, I won several awards for graphic design and sculpture, and was active member of several artist-led organisations/galleries, curating a range of exhibitions and events. 

I have also produced large scale sculpture for private, public and commercial organisations, been an artist in residence, and taught letter-cutting and sculpture. 

I  have also designed and produced several academic exhibitions as lead/sole artist, funded by bodies such as Glasgow University, the ESRC and Marsden. 

Since moving to NZ [2019] I have received Merit Awards from the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, Franklin Arts, and been a finalist in multiple Open Shows, including the RT Nelson Awards for Sculpture.
